Serve The City
Do you want to make a difference in your community but don’t know how? Join us each month as we partner with local ministries to serve those in need. We find the projects for you—all you have to do is show up!
We host Serve the City at both Grace campuses, starting at 8:45am on a Saturday morning for a brief kickoff, and then we break into teams to go to our different service opportunities. Please plan to arrive no later than 8:45am to sign in and have some breakfast before the 9:00am kickoff.
Whether it’s doing yard work at Union Mission, setting up JCOC’s food pantry, painting a transition home for PiN ministries or Samaritan House, or even tending our own Community Garden at Grace Lynnhaven campus, there’s a place for you to make an impact! Projects vary from month to month; click on the registration link to view the different project choices.

Children are welcome to serve with a parent but only at certain projects. Please read project descriptions when you register to see which ones are geared for families with children. At this time, we do not offer childcare. We’re happy to sign paperwork for community service hours, but we aren’t able to host teenagers getting dropped off without parents.
Want to serve our local military? At every Serve the City we create care packages for our deployed military members. We are looking for a few items to fill the boxes we send each month. Take a look at the list below and bring a few items with you when you show up for any Serve the City event!
